Final Music Video

I have made a few alterations to my music video as some feedback suggested to involved more movement into the video and the still images by zooming in and out to try and entice the audience in.

This is my final draft music video, after correcting all the minor issues. I am going to speak to members of my class and peers outside school to try and gather all the audience feedback I need in improving the video and picking the parts which are good and make it a good video.

Magazine Advert

This is my final magazine ad which I completed today. I did two versions so that I had the choice of both - a landscape, half page version and a portrait one. I think I prefer the half page one as I think it looks more realistic to other magazine album adverts as opposed to the portrait one. Now I have completed this, I can begin to make to my Digipak and after I complete that I can focus solely on my music video and editing my music video once it has been filmed.

Below is the alternative image layout I could use as my magaznie advert. This is more personal to the artist as it pictures her looking directly at the camera, wearing an outfit from the music video so that people can easily associate the video with the album. This magazine advert would be more appropriate in advertising the album whereas the above magazine advert could be used to promote the single instead.

Digipak

Here is my Digipak that I have created for my artist. It contains a front page, 4 inside pages which include photos of the artist and a short thank-you message to everyone involved in the creation of the album and finally a back page which includes a tracklist of all the songs on each CD included. I used the light streak on the fron cover to represent the fast movement of light and colour which is seen throughout the song Spectrum, which is the song I used for my music video. It is eyecatching and would draw in consumers soley by the bright colours used. Inside you can see the artist and again the low-shutter speed photo used for the first version of my magazine advert. This is stretched along the length of two pages and allows the audience to identify it with the magazine advert.

Adobe Premiere CS6 Tools/Effects

In order to be able to feel confident when using software such as Premiere I needed to be instructed on how to use certain tools and effects within the program. I used these videos in order to help me colour correct my footage, zoom some shots in and out and also to export it to the best quality available.

Production Post 25 - Done!

So now I have completed everything and have created a draft v final video which shows my draft video against my final video and the difference between the two. You can hopefully see the improvements made such as quicker cuts at certain points, colour corrections, different scale sizes on certain shots, more movement and the removal of the shots which didn't fit in with the feel and style of the rest of the video. The magazine advert and Digipak are complete with improvements made. All of my planning tasks have been completed too in order to make sure that I made every step of the process as detailed and easy as possible.

Final vs. Draft

I decided to put together a video with both my draft and my final video next to eachother. This could show the particular areas/shots I improved on. At first glance, the final version doesn't alter much from the draft but when you look a little closer you can see the various shots that have been replaced. These shots were either grainy, out of focus or just unprofessional-looking. This transforms the overall look of the music video into a more realistic music video that you could see on MTV.

Visual Progression/Image Systems

I managed to achieve visual progression by the use of cuts and through the editing pace. As the song builds and begins to get faster and more upbeat I start to introduce more and more shots and make the cuts quicker so that the audience can feel and see a clear link between the speed of the song and the duration of each shot. I have found some examples in my work and put them all together so hopefully it's clear where the music is slower, so is the footage and editing of the footage.
I have created the video in order to demonstrate the way in which I have linked together the lyrics and the visuals of the song as opposed to a clear visual progression. I would say it is more of a musical visual progression.

Production Post 24 - Finishing off

This week I finished off all my posts including Planning, Research and Finals. I managed to complete all my brand guidelines and health and safety posts which highlight how I have used my logo throughout all my productions and also how I can ensure that my filming atmosphere was as safe as possible and that all possible risks were highlighted and avoided. I finished editing my final video in Premiere after using many tools to enhance the quality and realism such as colour correcting and added more movement by zoom in and out of the still shots. My magazine advert is complete and so is my digipak. These have both been edited and re-edited after listening to my audience feedback where I asked various members to comment on the quality and possible improvements.
